Yeay, more stuff from Pinball Heaven!
Check out my box of lovely shiny things 🙂
Inside we have:
Opening this box was cross between christmas and an easter egg hunt! It’s packed full of shreaded paper and some of the items I asked for like the light bulbs and fuses were in tiny plastic zip lock bags and next to impossible to find in all the paper!
I spent about 15 minutes hunting through the paper looking for the fuses! Then I gave the box to Alex and he found them pretty quickly 😉
I’m really looking forward to using this lot.. and at the same time I’m really scared! I’ve no idea how to use these polishes or the wax! .. but that’s not what is worrying me.. it’s taking everything off the playfield!! It’s got sooo much stuff on it! I’m going to have to take billions of pictures so I know where to stick everything back!
I’m going to try and leave as much of the underneath attached as possible and polish the playfield inside the cabinet. Then when I’m done, I think I may add a fresh coat of black paint to the inside of the cab to get rid of the scratches and stick it all back in.
The only problem is that I really want to to take off the huge under playfield plastic ramp and give it a good clean.. and I’m pretty sure that is going to require lots of other stuff coming off!!
While I’ve got it off I also want to look at reinforcing the end where the ball flys in from the start mission hole. It’s got a big crack in it. It seems to be a common problem, as I’ve seen it looking battered on pretty much every underplayfield screenshot I’ve seen on the net. Right now I’ve got a couple of huge cable ties across it to prevent further damage. They are looped round the metal plate that holds the optos, round the back of the plastic and back on again, so it’s pretty strong, but the ball can really slam down there when you shoot straight off the flipper, so I’d like to look at maybe wrapping some metal round it to make it super strong.
