Lock’n'Load! We’re going to WAR!

Sniper Shot

WarFighters is about as close as you can get to having a real war, without actually getting your head shot off and it’s Awesome fun! :-)

WarFighters crew

Basically it’s paintball, but with laser guns.. oh and the guys that are running it, have acres of land to play on.. and over SIXTY really for reals yo TANKS!

I had a wicked time. Because my back is a little iffy, I got the sniper rifle :-D Defiantly my favourite weapon of all time! There were about twenty of us there and we were split into two teams, Red vs Blue. I was picked for the red team.

Each team has only one sniper. The sniper rifle has a much longer reload time and less ammo (10 shots per clip).. but, it’s got a whopping great sniper scope on the top of the gun, so I could easily pop people in the head from 100-150 yards.. probably more if I had a steadier hand. Everyone else had machine guns with 60 shots per clip.

The first couple of missions I was utterly shite. I couldn’t hit a thing! I had a guy lined up in my sights perfectly and shot him about 20 times.. nothing happened. I gave the rifle to the marshall after the match and asked him to check the sights. The sights were totally off! Apparently I would have have to aim about 6 foot off the target to hit anything! I went into the next mission with my sights perfectly aligned and wow, it was awesome!

We started off either side of a hill covered in trees and bushes.. perfect camo for the invading hoards. I laid down flat in a pot hole 100 yards away and scanned the top of the hill with my sights. I saw a tiny black dot slowly rise up behind a tree stump and lined up my victim dead centre of my crosshair and pulled the trigger. Red lights on his helmet lit up and I heard him swearing over the hill ;-) My first frag.

We played loads of different missions over the course of the day. Free for all stuff over an open hilly field. Protecting a well from terrorists trying to poison the water. Attacking an APC. Rescuing a hostage.. and quite a few others. They even had a little military camp setup in one field with a few tanks and some buildings to storm :-)

I had a wicked day and my legs have been aching for days since! Probably from all the creeping around crouched, trying not to get seen. If anyone wants to join me for the next match, we’re going June 2nd! :-D
