My optos haven’t arrive yet.. and yesterday I fitted my rubbers.. so today I had nothing to do.. that is except fit the two cannon actuator arms.. but they’re pretty useless without the drive plate to attach to the base of the cannon… so guess what I did today? 😉 (more…)

Rubbers! and lots of em!
This was going cheap on ebay, so I thought why not? .. My flipper rubbers are working ok enough, but there are a few cracks appearing and they are filthy. The new ones are really tight! I pulled off [tee-hee] my flipper rubber last night and tried to put on the new one and I couldn’t do it! .. So I guess that means that my old ones are really worn and need replacing! I had a look round the playfield and I think I’m going to have to take off quite a few parts in order to fit these, so I think I’m going to leave it until I get to the cleaning stage, when everything will have to come off anyway.
I can’t believe how many little bits of rubber there are to replace! This bag has got to have about 30 different bits in it!
Maplin suxxors teh wang

Today I decided to pop into the Maplin next to Oxford Circus on my commute home to pick up some InfraRed-LEDs to replace the ones I fried in the Optos the other day. My plan was flawless.. I can make a teeny diversion from my regular daily insane northern line commute from Colindale to Waterloo and go via Oxford Circus and grab my LEDs.. I phoned them before hand to reserve them, so they were just sitting behind the counter waiting for me.. what could go wrong?! .. 😉
