Not a proper scrub down, but just a quick polish to see exactly how dirty my playfield actually is.. because when you look at it, it doesn&#8217;t look all that bad. How wrong I was!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Check out this cloth!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Dirt coming off\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/2006-09-17-dirt-coming-off.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image108\" height=\"96\" alt=\"Dirt coming off\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/2006-09-17-dirt-coming-off.thumbnail.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All I did was dab a little bit of gunk on it and rub it over the enterprise (ooh err missus!)! Filthy!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Flipper replacement\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/2006-09-17-flipper-replacement.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image109\" height=\"96\" alt=\"Flipper replacement\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/10\/2006-09-17-flipper-replacement.thumbnail.JPG\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Comparison of my old and new flipper. So just a teeny bit dirty then! The old flipper had a huge crack in the tip. Didn&#8217;t seem to affect gameplay, but it doesn&#8217;t look good, so I replaced it.<\/p>\n<p>Replacing flippers is a lot harder than it sounds! Below shows the flipper coil under the playfield. The flipper rod is pinched in a U of metal bolted tight. The only problem is that if you over tighten it, there&#8217;s no way to bend the U back to shape \ud83d\ude41 Unfortunatly this is my &#8220;before&#8221; shot.
