It’s the only 7A fuse in the system and I didn’t have a replacement handy. I’ve ordered a set of 5 from pinball heaven, but I wanted to test everything just to make sure, so I did a bit of dodgy wiring 😉 .. I only had 5A and 15A fuse wire, so I decided to double up the 5A wire and attach it to the fuse slot:

Well dodgy, but it worked perfectly! 🙂 I played an awesome game! It felt like everything was working at 110%! .. That is until I slammed the ball into the center hole and heard a crack, followed by a metalic clunk as the ball snapped off the end of the plastic under ramp and fell into the machine!

Not good! .. But I have been expecting it to happen. The Plastic there has been fractured since I bought it, which is why if you look in the picture, there are cable ties going round where the plastic end piece goes.

Replacing the entire plastic under ramp is about 60/70 quid, so with my bike exhaust still on my desk, missing a chunk from where I cut out my shuriken, I decided to use the metal to make a reinforcement thing.

The plan is to glue the plastic bit back in place, then wrap it in metal. The flap at the bottom will fold over. Then I’ll drill a hole in it to attach it to the nut on the existing ramp. The two sides will fold down and then I’ll either make them so they bend round and hold onto the opto bar, or I’ll drill holes in each side and drill holes in the opto bar and bolt the whole thing together.

The only problem with the exhaust metal is that it’s filthy and I’m not sure I’m going to be able to clean it enough to stick inside the pinball machine. So I may goto B&Q and try and find some fresh metal. This exhaust stuff is very very thick though, so it’d be great if I can get it to work.

Last night all my solenoids stopped working.
