{"id":205,"date":"2007-03-16T01:04:33","date_gmt":"2007-03-16T00:04:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/16\/zelda-triforce\/"},"modified":"2007-03-16T11:03:43","modified_gmt":"2007-03-16T10:03:43","slug":"zelda-triforce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/2007\/03\/16\/zelda-triforce\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelda Triforce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long ago,\u00a0stories were told in the ancient world of Hyrule about a Golden Land, with unknown powers, controlled by an omnipotent and omniscient golden power; known as the Triforce.<\/p>\n<p>This omnipotent holy relic was created by the three goddesses of Hyrule; Din, Farore and Nayru.\u00a0Imbued with their divine essences, it is the ultimate manifestation of power, wisdom and courage in Hyrule.<\/p>\n<p>It is influenced by the heart of the one who touches it, whether good or evil, and possesses the ability to grant that person&#8217;s deepest desires.<\/p>\n<p>It consists of three distinct entities represented by the three smaller triangles, each of which is also referred to as a Triforce when considered individually. Counter-clockwise from the top, these are the Triforce of Power, the Triforce of Wisdom, and the Triforce of Courage.<\/p>\n<p>.. and here is the Triforce, held aloft by the great hero; Link!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Zelda holding the Triforce\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/zelda-triforce.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image206\" height=\"96\" alt=\"Zelda holding the Triforce\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/zelda-triforce.thumbnail.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 so, now that you&#8217;ve got the background story, my mate Robert asked me to make him a little Triforce for the chain he wears.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Step one was to mark out a triangle and then see how small a triangle I could cut in the center. My dremel cutting wheels are just over 15mm in diameter, so cutting a really tiny hole is next to impossible. Luckily I found a worn down cutting wheel that was only 8mm in diameter! That&#8217;s absolutely tidily!.. and perfect for what I needed.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Marked Out\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-marked-out.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image204\" height=\"96\" alt=\"Marked Out\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-marked-out.thumbnail.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next I cut it out. Queue Sparks!<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Sparks A Flying\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-sparks-a-flying.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image203\" height=\"94\" alt=\"Sparks A Flying\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-sparks-a-flying.thumbnail.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I left a little tab on the side, so I could keep it clamped while I cut it out and filed it.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Cut With Tab\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-with-tab.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image202\" height=\"77\" alt=\"Cut With Tab\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-with-tab.thumbnail.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I then ground down the edges to as close to the center as I could, leaving enough metal to keep the three triangles strongly together. Then\u00a0I cleaned up the edges, so it&#8217;s not insanely sharp and cut the tab off.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"imagelink\" title=\"Final Cut\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-final-cut.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image201\" height=\"90\" alt=\"Final Cut\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonicpenguins.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/2007-03-15-final-cut.thumbnail.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One snazzy looking Zelda Triforce, complete with tiny hole to stick a chain loop on \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long ago,\u00a0stories were told in the ancient world of Hyrule about a Golden Land, with unknown powers, controlled by an omnipotent and omniscient golden power; known as the Triforce.
